In Limbo prize: And the winner is…

Hanneke de Feijter wins the Rijnja Repro printed work from Manon van Hoeckel’s design project In Limbo Embassy, which deals with the undocumented and questions the concept of the embassy as a safe haven. Pictures from the installation are by Alexander Popelier and feature members of the We Are Here group, a refugee action collective.

Hanneke said: ‘My grandfather actually slept under a blanket like that while guarding a bridge in Friesland during the War. I still have it.”

”I think this picture should be seen in a variety of places and I would like to make that happen for the coming twelve months. I am an artist, and using my network I can think of a number of walls it can hang on temporarily.”

We congratulate Hanneke on her winning this wonderful portrait and thank her for her effort to make it travel for twelve months. This way, we hope a lot of people will be touched by it. We’ll keep track of the artwork and if you keep track of us on Facebook, you can do the same.
